Second Year Trustee - Ed Frandle

​

​Ed Frandle was born and raised in Minnesota.  He joined the Navy, August 1958, and served 8 years on active duty as a Meteorologist.  His first duty station was the Fleet Weather/Joint Typhoon Warning Center on Guam, then a tour on the USS Salisbury Sound AV-13 completing two West Pac cruises. His next assignment was a Flight Forecaster at NAS Alameda, CA.  Ed’s final 13 months were served on the Admiral’s Staff of Commander Patrol Force Seventh Fleet stationed in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam.  He was one of three Meteorologist in support of Operation Market Time charged with stopping the infiltration of Viet Cong Forces from North Vietnam.  Upon discharge, he returned to Minnesota completing a BA and MMA degrees.  Ed spent the next 35 years as the CIO for 5 different Corporations in the Information Technology field.  Ed coached Youth hockey for 10 years in Minnesota.  He’s a charter member of our Tellico Village VFW Post 12135.  Ed and wife, Ruth, moved to Tellico Village in 2011.  This year they will be celebrating there 63th Wedding Anniversary.
